The Ford foundation: Eroding America’s foundations

CODY – Any strong foundation depends on the parts of which it’s made, and how well it is maintained. This ‘many parts reality’ holds true for public policies be they national or international. Unfortunately, the Ford Foundation is a major player in helping to destroy the economic foundations upon which this nation is built. This ‘philanthropic’ organization is a champion and supporter of the effort to impose global taxes on your family and way of life. How about $300 billion in global taxes.

The Ford Foundation financially underwrote the recent Conference on Financing for Development held in Monterrey, Mexico. This conference, attended by hundreds of non-governmental organizations (NGO) demanded a global currency tax be imposed by the United Nations to support and stabilize the international financial system.

Attendees also demanded a global minimum wage, cancellation of all Third World debt and a ‘progressive taxation system’ among countries. Sounds like a meeting of parasites in paradise!.

This March 2002 conference was attended by President Bush. His announcement of increased foreign aid over the next three budget years of $5 billion was received as ‘a small step’ by those with their hands out. The United States has grown accustomed to common greed out distancing gratitude in our efforts to help..

After March comes April right? That accounts for another part of this effort being put into place this month. Washington, D.C. is the conference site for the Heinrich Boll Foundation, a German Green organization. This part of the picture is intended to put pressure on the Bush administration to agree to these global taxes. These taxes are supposed to fund “sustainable development”. I think an honest person would characterize this concept as “sustainable welfare”..

Documents and discussions at this conference will lay out the need for “Fairness in a Fragile World” through higher taxes and limits on economic growth. One document, the “Johannesburg Memo” states that capitalism has gone “astray” and “a new generation of instruments are needed such as user fees for the use of common goods”. I hate to tell you folks but this includes the air you breathe. The document contends that “the well-off on this globe occupy an excessive part of the environmental space”. It then goes on to state that the United States “will need to bring down its overall use of the environmental space by 80-90% during the coming fifty years.”.

In the meantime, however, proponents of this global taxation concept anticipate that “hot money flows” in capital markets would generate between $50 billion and $300 billion annually. This would allow the United Nations to function without any accountability. These taxes would go directly to them, without approval or oversight by the country generating the revenue..

How ironic, aside from immoral, that these very serious folks have such contempt for prosperity and want it limited, but are basing their ‘sustainable existence’ on the monies generated by that same prosperity..

Check out more details of these efforts via Cliff Kincaid’s article German Socialists Urge Abolition of American Way of Life on www.newsmax.com April 9th. There are additional links to more background material..

I want to use the remaining space in this article to focus on the part that the Ford Foundation in playing in this deliberate destruction of the American way of life. This foundation has been ‘left leaning’ for many decades. It appears to now have the redistribution of your personal wealth as one of its major agenda items..

This foundation owes it inception to the hard work and ingenuity of Ford Motor. It apparently ‘split the blanket’ with the corporation and family in the ’60s because of its left and liberal leanings. The irony that this wealthy foundation came by its ‘seed money’ from honest hard labor, which it now seeks to destroy through welfare, should not go unnoticed..

Global taxes have no place in the 21st century, or any other time. Supporting an effort to make welfare states rather then nation states via handouts will destroy the initiative and enterprise of all recipients. Additionally, it will make servants out of those paying the taxes. Their existence will be reduced to paying the wages of those who refuse to dig in, establish national infrastructures and reward those who work..

To support the concept of global taxes is to try and wash away the very foundations upon which this nation was built. Global taxes might be able to support “sustainable welfare”, but they would destroy the very foundations upon which great nations are built. These are enterprise and initiative!
