Bush’s undeclared war: Promotes Islam

Recently I received an email from someone who read an article by Rick Mathes, founder of Mission Gate Prison Ministries. In the article, Mathes exposed the belief system of Islam by getting a Muslim imam to admit that all followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of the same faith so they can go to “Heaven”.

The man who sent me the email stated that Christians must be aware of the tenets of Islam, and therefore should also reject the Constitution Party, which does not support the current “war” against Iraq, and should remain stalwart supporters of President George W. Bush and the Republican Party.

While it is true that Christians must be educated about Islam’s teachings, Christians must not be duped into believing that this current war is one waged against Islam.

Simply because Islam is a barbarous religion does not justify the continuance of an unconstitutional undeclared war versus Iraq.

It may be appealing to believe that our nation is somehow engaged in a war versus Islam; however, Congress never declared such a war pursuant to Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution; and even if it did, it would be an utterly wrong foreign policy for a President to send our military abroad in search of monsters to destroy. Such a policy would simply invite more hostilities and enflame greater resentment against our nation and people, increasing terrorism rather than decreasing it.

However, the current war waged by Bush has absolutely nothing to do with fighting Islam, constitutional or otherwise. In fact, Bush has empowered the new Iraqi government to ratify an Iraqi Constitution that officially proclaims Islam as the official religion of Iraq! To wit, Chapter One, Section 7 of the new Iraqi Constitution states:  “Islam is the official religion of the State and is to be considered a source of legislation.”

Just think of it: our nation, which was founded upon biblical principles over two centuries ago has now, through the work and encouragement of our own President, been instrumental in creating an Islamic state in the Middle East.

Out with Saddam, in with Allah?

The person who sent me the email stated that Mathes’ article entitled, “Allah or Jesus”, located on the web at http://www.charityadvantage.com/missiongateministry/Editorials.asp , has persuaded him not to support the Constitution Party because the party’s position is allegedly to “pull out of Iraq” immediately.  (Note: the word “Iraq” is found nowhere in the official platform of the Constitution Party athttp://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php ).

It is obvious that many Christians are under the mistaken belief that President Bush and the Republican Party have specifically waged a war against the evil forces of Islam.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

Bush has unilaterally declared war against a faceless enemy called “terrorism” – not Islam.

This is a “war” that cannot be possibly won because the enemy of “terrorism” is not a belief system or a nation, but is merely a military tactic. In order to win a “war against terrorism”, the tactic of terrorism must be swept from the face of the earth – a totally impossible feat.

Any President who believes that it can succeed in eliminating the tactic of terrorism is delusional.

The root of much of the world’s current terrorism is Islamic inspired, and yet Bush applauds the religion of Islam. Because of Bush’s efforts, Islam is enshrined in Iraq, not defeated! In fact, Bush has many times proclaimed that Christians and Muslims worship the same god. (That, of course, is a violation of the First Commandment.)

In November 2001, Bush invited Muslims to the White House during the Islamic holy period, Ramadan. According to the Telegraph website, “It is thought to be the first time that Muslims will have knelt and touched the floor with their foreheads in a formal ceremony in the official home of American presidents.”  (See article at  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2001/11/16/wus116.xml .)

In December 2002, Bush said, “Islam affirms God’s justice and insists on man’s moral responsibility.” He was flanked by a half-dozen imams. “Islam gave birth to a rich civilization of learning that has benefited mankind,” Bush said.

In November 2003, Bush was asked his thoughts on how the war on terrorism and his promotion of freedom intersects with his Christian faith. Bush replied, “I do say that freedom is the Almighty’s gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America’s gift to the world. It’s much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same God.” (See article at:http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=35787  )

In January of 2004, Bush said, “Miracles happen as a result of the love of the Almighty, professed, by the way, taught, by the way, by religions from all walks of life whether it be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu.”

(Please see http://www.bushrevealed.com for more insightful information on how Bush has compromised his “Christian faith” by promoting evil and openly supporting wickedness, such as uplifting Islam and officializing its status in Iraq….)

Ultimately, the U.S. Constitution spells out the requirements for a declaration of war, which can only be made by Congress: “The Congress shall have Power… To declare war….”  (Art. I, § 8)

Yet, Congress unconstitutionally transferred this power from its own branch of government to the executive branch, which was a de facto constitutional amendment. This Congress cannot do because Article V of the Constitution requires the ratification of such amendment by three fourths of all state Legislatures or Conventions.   Thus the President may not legitimately declare war on his own.

President Bush took an oath of office to support the Constitution, but by leading our forces to an undeclared war, he has violated the highest law of the land.

Christians must not be misled by those who are blindly loyal to Bush because of an unfounded belief that he is some sort of a Christian Constitutionalist.

His policies have been anything but Christian, and certainly not Constitutional.
