Best VPN for Accessing Porn

Published 4 years ago -  - 4y ago 12

When you’re trying to access your favorite porn websites, there are certain situations where you could find yourself having problems or being in danger of putting yourself at risk.

When you’re connected to the internet through a corporate or college network, you may find yourself dealing with harsh restrictions put in place by the network administrator.

If you are connected through your home network, you could also find yourself dealing with hackers that use porn sites to steal your personal information and credit card details.

Hackers rely on you connecting to porn sites using unsecured connections to spy on you, steal your personal identity and intercept your credit card information.

If you want to bypass harsh network restrictions and keep yourself safe while you are accessing your favorite porn websites, you will need to secure your connection.

The best way to increase your security and keep yourself anonymous and safe from hackers and your network administrator is to connect through a Virtual Private Network.

VPN services allow you to connect to your favorite porn sites anonymously, and encrypt the information you’re sending and receiving so hackers cannot gain access to it.

Why You Should Trust Us

The Etherzone team have devoted their lives to staying at the forefront of internet security, learning how hackers steal your information and advising how to keep safe online.

We’ve devoted a substantial effort to reviewing different VPN services to find the absolute best for keeping yourself anonymous and secure while accessing porn websites.

Testing Methodology

Subscribing to the first VPN service that you find could cause more problems, because not all VPN services are created equal and some deliver a far better service for the money you’re spending.

We’re here to help ensure that your hard-earned money goes toward a service that can keep you safe, anonymous and secure, instead of causing extra frustrations.

How We Tested Each VPN Service

We started our review process by pitting 173 different VPN services against each other using a three-part elimination process to help you stay private while accessing porn websites.

To skip the methodology and go straight to our recommendations, click here now.

To begin, we eliminated VPN services that are based out of countries where the government can force the service to turn over logs of your activity on their network.

Then, we went through the remaining services to verify that they provide a minimum set of features we consider necessary for keeping you safe online.

We also took reviews from other customers to help eliminate companies that have developed a reputation for providing a poor customer experience and service.

Finally, we used five criteria to determine which of the remaining VPN services are best for keeping you safe while you’re accessing your favorite porn websites.

Those criteria are:

Price – The first factor we looked at is pricing and how much VPNs charge compared to the features that they deliver. In a highly competitive industry, like VPN providers, price matters.

Setup Process – We then subscribed to each of the different VPNs, downloaded their software and installed it to ensure that the process is simple to complete.

Ease of Use – We tested each service by connecting to their network and accessing the web to determine if we had any problems getting and staying connected to their network.

Speed – We verified the connection speeds of each service by running speed tests from servers based in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Customer Service – We verified each service’s customer service experience by sending them a message before the sale, and again after the sale with a billing issue and a technical issue.

Below are the results from our testing.

VPN Services You Should Avoid

Throughout the world, there is a program referred to as “14 Eyes” that puts you and your sensitive information at risk. Many VPN services participate in this program.

To begin eliminating services from our original list of 173 providers, we removed any service that participates in the 14 Eyes program, or is based in a country that participates in it.

Countries in the 14 Eyes program and services that participate in it can be forced to turn over your activity on their network to the local government.

The government can then use this information to prosecute you for activities that they deem illegal. Of the original 173, 123 services are based in countries that participate and were eliminated.

Two of the many services that were eliminated due to their participation in the 14 Eyes program are IPPredator and GoVPN.

VPNs Disqualified Due to Missing Features

After eliminating services because of their participation in invasive surveillance programs, we then began verifying features that each VPN service offers to ensure they meet a minimum standard.

As our elimination process continues, we’ll break down each of these features and give you examples of VPNs that were eliminated for not meeting our minimum standards.

Criteria #1: OpenVPN Support

VPN services use a wide variety of protocols to manage your connection to their network, ranging from OpenVPN, PPTP and IPSec.

Since OpenVPN is generally regarded as the most secure, services that provide it as part of your subscription, at least as an option, were ranked higher on our list.

Betternet and AnonVPN are two of the services that have been eliminated for failing to provide OpenVPN support.

Criteria #2: Unlimited Bandwidth and Data Transfer

Watching porn online puts huge bandwidth demands on your internet connection. Some VPN services will reduce your speeds or cancel your service for consuming excessive bandwidth.

VPN services that offer truly unlimited bandwidth and do not limit or suspend your account due to excessive use were ranked higher during our review process.

Cloak and Celo are two of the services we’ve removed due to their bandwidth consumption policies.

Criteria #3: No Data Logging Policies

Some VPN services will attempt to diagnose and solve problems that you’re having on their network by tracking what you do while you’re connected.

Storing logs of your activity poses a risk because the information that the service uses to diagnose problems can also be turned over to your local government and be used against you.

Seed4Me and Hola!VPN were both eliminated due to tracking what you do while you’re connected to their servers.

Criteria #4: Support for Multiple Operating Systems

If you’re like so many other people, you probably connect to the internet using multiple different devices, each with a different operating system.

That’s why VPN services that support most mainstream operating systems, like Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Linux were ranked higher during our tests.

IntelliVPN and SunVPN were both eliminated because they do not offer support for most mainstream operating systems.

Criteria #5: Support Multiple Concurrent Connections

When you connect to the internet with more than one device, you’re also going to need a VPN service that allows you to connect to their network with each device at the same time.

VPN services that can handle multiple concurrent connections without limiting your connection speeds or becoming unreliable were ranked higher during our test.

IBVPN and HotVPN were both eliminated because they do not allow you to connect to their network with multiple devices at the same time.

Criteria #6: No Peer2Peer Blocking

Many people use Peer2Peer file sharing networks to download large files, including porn. If you use file sharing and Peer2Peer networks, you will need a VPN service that keeps you protected.

Services that block your access to file sharing and Peer2Peer networks were eliminated from our review process. LibertyVPN is one of the services that has been eliminated from our test.

Criteria #7: Free-Trials, Refunds and Money-Back Guarantee

In competitive industries, like the VPN industry, there is no reason to risk your money on a service that won’t offer you a free trial or a money-back guarantee.

To ensure that you are happy with the recommendations we’ve given you, services that do not offer a free trial period or a money-back guarantee were eliminated from our tests.

VPNBaron and VPN Shield were both eliminated for their failure to provide a free trial period or offer a refund policy.

VPNs Eliminated Due to Poor Reviews

To help dwindle down the many remaining services, we needed another way to quickly remove low-quality providers from our list.

That’s why we looked through more than 100 different websites that contain reviews from previous customers to help eliminate VPN services that have developed a negative reputation.

Top Three VPNs for Accessing Porn Websites

After going through an extensive elimination process, we dwindled the list of 173 services down to three VPN providers that are vying to be labeled the best VPN for accessing porn websites.

Each of the remaining three services will be reviewed based on five criteria:

  • Price
  • Setup Process
  • Ease of Use
  • Speed
  • Customer Service

After extensive testing, we found that one service easily ranked at the top of our list, providing excellent customer service, software, a wide range of features and a great network.

#1 ExpressVPN – (9.5 / 10) – The Best VPN Service for Accessing Porn Websites

If you’re looking for the absolute best-of-the-best VPN services for keeping yourself safe and anonymous while you’re accessing porn websites, ExpressVPN ranked at the top of our list.

The price structure that they offer fell in the middle of the pack at $12.95 for single-month subscriptions and $8.32 for 12-month subscriptions paid in advance.

The software that ExpressVPN provides is easy to download and install, allowing us to connect to their network within a few minutes of making our payment.

The network strength that ExpressVPN provides shows that they devote substantial resources to ensuring that they remain competitive, fast and reliable.

During speed tests, ExpressVPN provided the fastest average upload and download speeds, beating every other service that we’ve tested.

In speed tests performed in the United States and the United Kingdom, ExpressVPN ranked #1. They ranked #2 in tests performed in Australia, but that may be due to the time of day we performed the tests.

The customer support team at ExpressVPN were helpful, but it did take them around three hours to respond to the requests that we submitted to them.

We understand that they are busy, but would have loved to see them responding to our customer service requests quicker than they did.

Summary: When you’re looking for the best VPN service for keeping yourself anonymous and secure while browsing porn sites, very few services can compare to ExpressVPN.

We didn’t find another service that offered the network strength and reliability, connection speeds or the helpful customer service that ExpressVPN provides.

#2 IPVanish – (7.5 / 10) – Suitable if ExpressVPN isn’t Available for You

There may be times when you are unable to create an account with ExpressVPN or their servers do not perform for you the way they did for us.

If you find yourself in that situation, you may find a suitable service through another VPN provider that performed decently during our review process.

IPVanish, costing only $7.50 for single-month subscriptions and $4.87 per month for 12-month subscriptions, may be a suitable alternative to ExpressVPN.

Downloading and installing their software is straightforward, and we were connected to their network within a few minutes of making our initial payment.

The customer service team at IPVanish provided helpful responses, but we did wait significantly longer for a response than we did with the team at ExpressVPN.

During speed tests, IPVanish ranked #2 in tests performed out of the United States and the United Kingdom, and #1 in tests performed out of Australia.

Summary: While the network infrastructure that IPVanish provides is comparable to ExpressVPN, ExpressVPN offers faster connection speeds and customer support response times.

However, if you’re unable to create an account with ExpressVPN, IPVanish may work as an alternate solution for keeping you safe while you’re browsing porn websites.

#3 HideMyAss – (5.5 / 10) – Not Recommended

Ranking third in our list, HideMyAss is hard to recommend to readers trying to stay anonymous, safe and secure while browsing porn sites.

While we didn’t experience many issues downloading their software and connecting to their network, we did experience problems in other areas while testing their service.

During speed tests, we noticed significantly slower speeds through HideMyAss than other services we tested, and had numerous instances where our connection was completely dropped.

Contacting their customer service team also caused issues that we weren’t prepared for. On average, it took them more than 24 hours to respond to messages we submitted.

They are also one of the most expensive VPN services, charging $16.99 for single-month subscriptions and $9.29 per month when your 12-month subscription is paid in advance.

Summary: The delays in their customer service response times, coupled with dropped connections and poor network strength caused HideMyAss to rank third during our tests.

When you want to keep yourself safe and anonymous while browsing porn sites, ExpressVPN is a much better solution. If they’re not available, IPVanish is a suitable alternative.

NOTE: Browsing porn websites, especially when you’re behind a corporate or college network, can be difficult and can create significant risks.

Hackers rely on unsecured connections to intercept the sensitive information you’re sending and receiving over the internet. They do this in order to steal your identity and credit card data.

Some network administrators also block access to your favorite porn sites to keep their network safe and prevent hackers from gaining unauthorized access to it.

When this happens, you’re going to need to use a VPN service like ExpressVPN to keep yourself anonymous, bypass network restrictions and keep your sensitive information secure while browsing porn websites.
