ROSA
PARKS SPEAKS
AND THE GLOVES COME OFF

The
man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but
newspapers.

Advertisements
contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper. I do not take a single newspaper,
nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it.
--Thomas Jefferson
One of the more interesting occurrences in this election cycle is
watching our President reinvent himself over and over again while desperately trying to
find donations. As Barney Frank pointed out regarding Obamas views on same sex marriage
he was probably inclined to think that same sex marriage was legitimate, but as a
candidate for president in 2008 that would have been an unwise thing to say. And I
dont mean hes being hypocritical. I mean that if you live in a democratic
society, it is a mix of what you think the voters want and what you think is doable.
I agree with Barney on it being suicidal for him to tell the truth on
this, but our shared views on the matter go no further than that. Im more inclined
to go back to Joe Wilsons words. You lie! Obama has stated several times
that hes not for gay marriage, but due to fiscal concerns (read plummeting financial
support for his campaign) he has, like any political prostitute changed his stance. That
Barney thinks its okay to not tell the truth is quite an indicator of what we have
in D.C. It is also an indicator of how stupid the beltway elitists think we are. I must
confess that I am surprised at how stupid we can be sometimes, but I still hold out a
little hope occasionally.
As the leftwing newspapers attempt to run interference for Barak
again over this same sex marriage issue I am delighted to see the gloves come off once
more. Its not like we havent seen this before. Brad Pitts mother Jane
Pitt offended Angelina Jolie and numerous other hand-wringers when she penned an
anti-Obama and anti-gay marriage letter. The vitriol that poured out of the left
towards Brad Pitts mother was incredible, but unsurprising. Anyone who is or has
been paying attention to the left knows they have the kind of tolerance that has no
tolerance for any views but theirs. You are welcome to disagree with them all you want,
but you better shut your mouth. Nowhere else is this attitude more obvious than on this
issue. The owner of Chick-Fil-A states his personal views and wrath is poured down on him
from their faux moral high ground. That wrath was coming no matter what because he had
opened his mouth. The media made the mistake of highlighting the statement and the various
celebs had to open their tolerant mouths. August 1 was turned into Chick-Fil-A
Appreciation Day. The lines were long and worth it. Rosa Parks was born anew and told to
sit at the back of the bus and she not only said No!, but the rest of the
country stood up and helped Chick-Fil-A set a sales record that day. |
As with Jane Pitt the gloves came off again. It
started with newspaper columns and then it turned to something else. On Friday gay
activists decided to have a kiss in. I saw a picture of one knuckle dragger wearing a
T-shirt that said Jesus is a C**T. His attire, dreadlocks and tattoos spoke of
a well-adapted and civil human being.
In the end what is it really all about? This is about free speech.
The left told Dan Cathy to sit down and shut up and the rest of us told them
No! In an attempt to show the rest of us what they stand for we got the
knuckle dragger with the T-shirt and a bunch of same sex couples having a kiss-in at the
restaurants. The idea for the kiss-in came from Carly McGehee in Dallas. She said that the
company is continuously supporting hate and bigotry and intolerance.
Dear Carly, you obviously have no idea what hate, bigotry or intolerance are. I can assure
you that at your tender age of 24 years old you are absolutely clueless, especially on
this topic. Youre just another indoctrinated moron that the college campuses dumped
back into our society. If any of those things were present to the level you claim in our
society you and yours wouldnt be allowed to eat at that restaurant. You
wouldnt be able to work there and your Friday protest would have ended with water
cannons and billy club beat-downs followed by arrests.
The fact of the matter is that this is the way its supposed to
work in this country. People have the Right to Free Speech, and can voice their thoughts,
beliefs and opinions. Dan Cathy made a comment about his beliefs and you on the left with
your intolerance reacted. We responded and then so did you. The only difference is that
you, once again, took it to the gutter. Please, by all means
. keep it up.
